We spent Sunday looking for nice places in Santa Monica to walk and sit and play. Yesterday, we spent several hours out at Clover Park in SM with a mommy and baby play group.2 This weekend there are plans for Huntington Gardens and Disneyland. And a forecast for rain, more rain, thunder, and hail. I'm counting on a miracle.
If those things don't happen this weekend, Kaylee and I will do them (sans Dylan) next week.
Monday is packing day. Luggage for the Cirque luggage truck needs to be packed, tagged, and delivered to site Friday morning, so we'll be working on that during Dylan's day off.3 Then we have just a few days to be sure we've done as many of the LA things I wanted to as we can. So, what did I want to do while I was here?
- Disney - check
- Visit Oxy - check
- Shop in Old Town Pasadena - check4
- Spend lots of time on the beach - kinda
- Malibu (where Dylan proposed)
- Santa Monica Pier and 3rd Street Promenade - check
- Huntington Gardens - :( rained out on the day we planned to go
- Row in the marina (or watch a lot of rowing in the marina)
- Eat at great restaurants - check
Things we did that I didn't know I wanted to do:
- Kings game
- See IRIS
- Visit the LA Zoo enough to need a membership
So, that leaves just Malibu and maybe Huntington Gardens, if the weather is really great this week.

1 Well, it was 12 when I started writing this post. It's only 9 now.
2 Where I completely neglected to remember things like sunscreen for myself. And wore an asymmetric shirt. And now have an embarrassing red left shoulder.
3 There were 14 pieces of luggage to get the 3 of us to LA (including our carry-ons). I'm not looking forward to the packing.
4 Though it turns out I can't really afford the stores there any more. So, we bought gelato, but then realized we weren't exactly the target audience for Old Town shopping. (Since when is there a Tiffany & Co?)
