Just saw the whole scene play out on Chuggington, which I usually love watching with K. In the past I would have just thought, "oh, they're trying to teach teamwork." But this time, I realized there isn't any children's cartoon that would have played out the exact same scene with two boys. And that it wasn't really teamwork they were teaching. They didn't have the two trains solve the problem together... They had the boy only agree to help when the girl apologized, and then he solved the problem while she said, "you're so smart!"
Why are we teaching our kids that girls are just "bossy"?
Why are we teaching little boys that they're smarter than girls?
Why don't we see what we're doing?
