Then he lost them.
He claims he knows exactly where they are in the storage unit. Whether or not that's true, they aren't doing him any good there. And it's been snowing a lot here.
So, I bought new black yarn this summer. Measured and planned again.
Swatched and gauged again.
And started a new pair (about 4 months ago. Let's overlook that part, shall we?)
Something is wrong though, and I'm not sure what it is. If it's in the plan or the gauge or the math or what... but I have this gut instinct that these are not going to fit. Or, that if the first one fits, the second will never match, because, again, something in the plan or the gauge or the math or something is wrong and I'll never be able to repeat it.
I may just be overreacting. When I made them last time, I had been knocking out fingerless mitts at full speed for a year; pair after pair for myself, for my sister, for Dylan... I had the idea down and was feeling brave enough to just go for it without a pattern. Now... I haven't done any knitting in awhile. And no mitts since the last pair I made for him. Maybe I'm just worried I don't remember how they're supposed to go...

But... I'm going to get these damn things done before spring. So I refuse to rip them back and start over. I'm just going to do it.
It'll work, right?
