That's when Dylan got a call from Cirque du Soleil asking if he wanted to submit an updated resume to be considered for a job he originally applied to 8 years ago. EIGHT YEARS AGO.
Long story short, the benefits dramatically outweighed the costs, and we're joining the circus. And not one of those boring, stationary shows in Vegas. No, not us. A real, traveling Big Top show, OVO, which will be in 3 more North American cities before heading to AUSTRALIA for 9 months.
So, in 15 days, Dylan leaves to join them in Mexico City while the 12 week old baby and I head to Michigan. We'll spend Christmas there, protecting the not-yet fully immunized baby, while Dylan adjusts to his new job. Then we meet up in Santa Monica.
15 days to get most of our belongings into storage, and the bare essentials into suitcases. Do you know what you can't find in a Google search? "tips for extended vacations with baby." So, guess I'll have to be the one to write them as we experience it! There are actually lots of families traveling with Cirque, and probably lots of good advice out there, I'll just have to track it down.
Important things to do before we go:
Baby's first Thanksgiving, here with my family.
Baptism (rescheduled from January to the day after Thanksgiving)
Lots of packing
