Cookies!

My big contribution to the Christmas festivities around here was cookie production.  Finding time to get an entire batch through the dough mixing and cookie baking during baby's naps was sometimes interesting.  There were a few times when Mom had to finish the baking or the storage so I could go snuggle the baby girl, but mostly, I got 'em done.

First, there were two double batches of Hershey Kiss Peanut Butters, to make my sister happy.

There was also a batch of gingerbread Christmas trees, and a double batch of oatmeal no-bakes.

Then, I did something I'd been wanting to do for years, but didn't have the excuse to do, since we never had company at our house and always had to travel too far to make transporting them worth it: overly decorated sugar cookies!  Two double batches, decorated with homemade royal icing.  I use the Paula Deen Snowflake Cookie recipe... LOVE 'EM!

This is supposed to be a melted snowman cookie.  When Dylan heard I was making so many cookies, he sent me the link and I tried them.  I didn't do as well as my sister's friend, though.

Next year, I won't be doing any of my own baking, I'm sure, since we'll be in a hotel in Australia somewhere, so I'm glad I got to do so much this year.
