If I lived in a big house, and my baby was asleep in her baby proofed crib in her nursery, and I was several rooms (or even floors) away from her with the baby monitor turned on, ready to get respond to any sign of waking or distress, I would be a good mommy. If I did the same thing, but she was in my hotel room and I was in the hotel lobby, would I be a good mommy, or a bad mommy? I feel like this is not something I should feel would make me a bad parent, but I also feel like I would be judged harshly for it.
Thoughts?
Oh man... I TOTALLY get what you're saying right now. TOTALLY. Does the baby monitor reach far enough for you? I say try it!
ReplyDeleteSo long as you're close enough to respond in reasonable time to her needs, what difference does it make where you have to come from? Plus, it's not like she's 2...she's still an infant, there's not much trouble she can get into in a pack and play. Plus, screw people if they want to judge you harshly...your kid, your rules. That's the beauty of being the one who gave birth to her.
