In Part 1, we drove from Sydney to Marimbula and spent Thanksgiving Day exploring a sleepy little beach town.
I don't remember for sure where we ended up that night. I could ask Heather, she has all the info, but that would take way more energy than I have right now. I think it was Sale... for no reason other than when I looked at the map, that name stood out.
Since we missed the chance to tour the caves, we didn't do much at this stop. But it was a chance for Kaylee to get out of her car seat and play at the park's playground.
As we walked up to the playground, a momma kangaroo, with joey in pouch, hopped away from where she had been grazing next to the swings.
This stop along the drive wouldn't have been very significant at all, as it was little more than a chance to get out and stretch our legs, except for my awesome daughter. I pushed her on the swings for awhile, then put her down to crawl around. After a few minutes, she came back to the swing and signed, "Swing, please," in her first ever use of the sign for swing. I was super proud. :)
